Wowza, fakers.

As I'm sure most professional gooners will be aware of by now, CFake, the last major hub of fakes around, got nuked to high heavens. At the same time, there's been troubling developments in the last month with laws regarding NCII - non-consensual intimate imagery - that, while intended to combat rampant AI generations, unfortunately also paints a target on the backs of traditional fakers and those that distribute their works.

Now, while we're not quite at the SHUT IT ALL DOWN point, it has urged me to think about my future in this hobby. My country has its own laws surrounding deepfakes and, while they've been seldom enforced, I don't fancy sticking around while things are getting heated.

I'll be taking another hiatus to sit and scope things out. Like the last one, this isn't an announcement of retirement, but it is likely things are going to change as I revaluate what I want my online presence to be. I'll remain reachable on Discord, however whether this blog or the gallery remain up or get shuttered may be another matter.

I'll also be opening up my discord server for any lurkers who want to jump on.

In the meantime, watch Yellowjackets, listen to the new Olivia album, and make big plans for your nearest AI datacenter.

    Definitely the right call for now. I think I'll only do one more post myself and ride out the storm. Hopefully, things will cool down and we can go back to business as usual. Stay safe brother.

    Totally understandable. It's still such a shame idiots started abusing deepfakes a few years back, which caused the whole thing to go ultra viral and fucked it up for everyone.. On top of that, AI was basically the final nail in the coffin. Wish it all would've just remained as good old fashioned photoshop and never evolved beyond that, but oh well.
